Day 13 post –
A picture I took of my two youngest sons getting off the bus last Thursday. They both move quickly so getting the picture was quite a challenge. Only snapped three – one was blurry, one was poor composition, and this one. I love it! This is the straight photo – no cropping, no editing.
Day 12 –
I’m using a drawing I did today of one of my favorite movies. Great movie, I would recommend seeing it if you haven’t. And again if you have!
Day 11 –
This is a habitat I whipped up today for my pet centipede. As in, now he has officially become my pet.
I caught him in my garage about 2 1/2 months ago. He’s been living in the jar I originally caught him in. Ever so often I’ll give him some fresh grass and water and he’s a trooper.
So now he has a new home.
Threw this together with maple, plexi-glass, and five-minute epoxy.
Blog post 10 –
This is a bronze head I made when I was 19 working at a bronze foundry. It was pretty cool job.
…with perks. As in I met some really cool people and still have a handful of some pieces I made while working there.
I made the pieces here by first making a wax mold – not your typical candle wax. Then it goes through a slurry build up dressed with a liquid eggshell substance in which you roll it in different sand to build up the casting shell. Its starts about the graininess as sugar and ends with gravel. Its about 10 different steps.
Then the hot liquid bronze is poured, then the breakaway, followed by sandblasting. Then done.
The head was designed to look like its emerging from a table or something. It now resides on our fireplace.
Literally just finished my mink skull display case.
My wife got this skull for me for Christmas. It needed a legit display case for it. I wanted to use wood and metal together.
